Stand OUT For Equality Campaign is organizing the 2013 Equality Days in Carson City, Nevada on March 26-27 with other member organizations of the Nevada LGBTQ Leadership Coalition.

Equality Days events will include lobby training and issue orientation at the Nevada Legislature hosted by PLAN and the ACLU, a no-host reception, breakfast by Stonewall of Northern Nevada and lunch hosted by HRC. Network with other LGBTQ organization members.

Equality Days 2009 was the first officially recognized Special Day at the Nevada Legislature. This lobbying effort introduced the LGBTQ community to the legislative process and Nevada’s Legislators to the LGBTQ community. The result of this citizen lobbying event provided the basis for enhanced Legislative relationships and created an atmosphere of awareness and acceptance, of not only the LGBTQ community, but our issues as well. Equality Days in 2009 helped create a positive and affirming presence at the Nevada Legislature and was instrumental in the passage of two bills, the Domestic Partnership bill and Public Accommodations.

In the 2011 Legislative session, Equality Days was instrumental in passing a more inclusive Public Accommodations bill, Housing bill and the Employment Non-discrimination bill.
